It's a Stone Age legend. This was written way before our modern comic book technology which has the idealized superhero opposed by an certified supervillian. If Superman had been written into Genesis as a hero, his only superpower would have been the ability to talk to plants, drown small children, and kick puppies.

since i haven't gone in about 2 weeks, and i leave as soon as it ends, and elder decided to corner me at the end.
lately i've been through some very depressing family issues that are non-jw related so i haven't been my best at acting like i care about the org.

That elder is an idiot. You handled it as well as could reasonably be expected with such an asshole.
Just for kicks, when he asked about what problem was bothering me, I might have said, "I've got a burning and itching hemorrhoid. Brother Elder, can you kiss it and make it better?"
As far as his remark about "don't think, just obey," I might have shot back with, "do you have a scripture for that? Because from what I've read, the Bible talks about using our powers of reasoning, examining whether something is true, and whether we are being confronted with a wolf in sheep's clothing. The vast majority of the Jews in Jesus day were mindlessly obedient to the Pharisees and other leaders, how did that work out for them? Do you really want to go on the record as saying 'don't think'?"

The longer I was a JW, the more I could see the crazy:normal ratio go way out of balance in the congregation. Of the ones I saw baptized during the last decade, they were either the children of dubs or people with problems. And the "Bible students" that the pioneers were studying with, were just not "right".

Bachelor's Degree

Congrats Mamamo! If you graduated last weekend and are only getting around to telling us today, does that mean it's taken you this long to sober up from the graduation party? Good luck with finding that new job!
I hope it's just one more year for me, still waiting for my grades to be posted to find out . I so completely should have done this when I was younger. Although I have gained a lot of experience and abilities in the years since I graduated high school, my older brain isn't as spongy as when I was half this age. But better late than never.

it all seems so playful and cutsie wootsie to an insider i suppose, i am seeing posts all over facebook about how this is just what my kid needs.. this is truly proper food at the proper time blah blah blah blomit blomit vomit vomit... the funniest part is however is that it cuts out at the end by saying "let's practice what you are going to say".. .
why not make the video longer and discuss how you can get an idea for a 6 year old on how to talk to a grown person about how they are going to die unless you study the bible with me..

For those faking meeting attendance
by His Excellency infor those of you who are still faking meeting attendance and field service, do you still greet the dubs after the sessions?.
because for me, i am increasingly finding it difficult to showcase any fake smile and pretend everything is allright.
in fact, i'm already getting exhausted with the hypocrisy, i just have to remain in for family reasons.
